[Comparison] Apple iPad Mini Vs Google Nexus 7

It had been a war between Apple and Google in the smartphone arena. Nevertheless, no direct competition between Apple and Google in term of hardware configuration. As Apple announced the 7.9 inch iPad mini today, the competition between Nexus and iPhone had been extended to tablet war and bring to the surface. Both of the tablet do targeting the 7 inch tablet market, who will be the winner in the end? 

Dimension:

In term of the dimension, it shall show no significant difference between iPad Mini and Nexus 7 since both of them are categorized in 7″ tablet. However, diamond-cut chamfer design of iPad Mini successfully make it looks bigger. 

Weight:

Again, no significant difference in term of weight. Both of them are suitable for single-hand handle. 

Display:

Obviously it is shown in the picture above that Nexus 7 has a better display than iPad Mini. Nexus 7 possess higher resolution as well as pixel density than iPad Mini while iPad Mini has its advantage of 0.9″ larger display than Nexus 7. 

Processor:

Nexus 7 won again in processor performance. Quad-core processor definitely faster than the conventional A5 dual core processor. Due to the different operating system, users still have a different experience on iPad Mini and Nexus 7. 

Memory:

There is no evidence that shows the iPad Mini is running 512MB RAM. Nexus 7, however, has been confirmed having 1GB RAM. 

Storage:

Apple offer three options for iPad Mini: 16/32/64GB while Nexus 7 has only 8/16GB. The 32GB version of Nexus 7 is yet to be confirmed. 

Wireless:

Since iPad Mini support LTE, it shall win another round for Apple against Nexus 7 which only support WiFi only. 

Battery:

There is no firm comparison could be made on the battery since various unknown factor do exist. 

Camera: 

Both of them are equipped with 1.2MP front camera but only iPad Mini do have the 5MP rear camera. Another round for Apple iPad Mini. 

Others:

For sure, Nexus 7 shall win the match with its unbelievable low price as compared to iPad Mini. However, iPad Mini show its value with additional features where Nexus 7 will not have.
