Samsung GT-I9260 perhaps has the identity of the upgraded version of Google Galaxy Nexus, which make it as the focus of phone enthusiasts. Although there is no reliable info of official release date of this new device, it have been shown in the latest leaked photos that this device has been updated on the firmware version. It does indicate the official release is around the corner.
Updated Firmware Version
From the leaked photos, we are not only know that the device is equipped with a 4mm lens but also found that the camera firmware version has been updated from I9260XXALI5 to I9260XXALI6. This may mean that the software testing of this device are in full swing, the official release of Galaxy Nexus 2 is coming very soon.
From the leaked configuration info, the device’s touchscreen will be the 720p specification (1280x720pixels). It also revealed from the previous leaked information that the Samsung GT-I9260 touchscreen size will remain the original specification, and just switch to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Super AMOLED HD touchscreen panel.

As compared to the previous major improvement, the Samsung GT-I9260 rumored to has a 1.9 Megapixel front camera and 8MP main camera. In addition, the memory card expansion capabilities can be seen as one of the minor change in this device.
In processor aspect, according to the past leaked NenaMark’s benchmark, this device may powered by Texas Instrument OMAP4470 processor as it possess a PowerVR SGX 544 GPU. This feature enhance 80% of the web browsing performance as well as 2.5 times of the graphic performance. Besides, it claimed to reduce energy consumption too. With the use of 466MHz LPDDR3 memory, it is possible to bring higher memory bandwidth.
May release on November
It still cannot be confirmed that Samsung GT-I9260 would be the 4th Nexus Phone but it shall released as the upgraded version of GT-I9250. According to the previous Japanese carrier-DOCOMO’s Autumn-Winter new smartphone list, Samsung SC-02E (Galaxy Nexus 2) will be one of the smartphone to be released in Japan’s market besides of Sony SO-04E (Xperia Nexus) and LG L-08E (Optimus Nexus).
Together with the earlier rumor that Google will release Android 5.0 on November 2012, it is expected that the Samsung GT-I9260 might be launched as Galaxy Nexus 2, one first batch of models to support the new operating system.
