Do you know how important of 1 second? 1 second ago I am still writing on the leaked video of unofficial Jelly Bean ROM ported on S3 but after 1 second, it comes the news that you can now download and install the pre-release Jelly Bean firmware to your Galaxy S3. According to SamMobile, this firmware is only for testing purpose and not official Kies or OTA update from Samsung. You are warned of losing warranty if you insist of flashing this firmware. The firmware version is I9300XXDLG4 based on Android 4.1.1 – Jelly Bean and is build on July 31 2012.
After flashing this firmware, there are some visible changes in the layout and additional function as follow:
- new clock shown in the notification bar
- “Dormant mode” is now available – function is unknown
- “Palm swipe” will gain access to take screenshot
SamMobile also reveal on some known issue of the firmware update. As you flash this firmware, your internal SDCARD will got formatted. You will also find that some apps cannot be installed. From here, we do not share the exact method of flashing this firmware since I believe the official update will be available in less than two weeks from now. If you insist, you can always “Google search” for the flash instruction.
